Pressure Point Massage

Frequently Asked Questions

Always good to know, before your first appointment

Is remedial massage painful?

I will always work to your level of comfort.
Deep tissue work does not necessarily equate to very hard pressure, and I do not want you to feel uneasy during treatment. There are some techniques (such as Trigger Point Therapy) where a level of discomfort is part of the treatment in order to reduce overall pain. However, I will always discuss with you if we plan to use this modality and ensure you consent before proceeding. Your treatment plan with me is a collaborative one, in which we work together to achieve the best health outcomes for your personal situation and health presentation.

How should I dress for my massage?

Please wear clothing that is easy to remove for your massage. I will leave the room for you to disrobe and whilst you settle yourself on the massage table with the large towels provided to cover your body. You will be appropriately and respectfully draped at all times during your treatment. I only uncover the part of the body that I am working on and I always work to your level of comfort. It is advisable to remove your jewellery before we start the massage.

For hygiene reasons please try to arrive with clean skin. I do have baby wipes available if you need to freshen up your feet or other areas before treatment.

Do you offer rebates for clients with private health cover?

I am a registered provider with all the main health funds here in Australia. If you have 'remedial massage' included in your policy you will be entitled to a rebate (value dependant upon your level of cover).
I have a HICAPS machine in my clinic, offering the convenience of instant rebates if you bring your health insurance card with you. If you don't have your card I can provide you with a receipted invoice showing my provider numbers, for you to claim with your health fund at a later time.
